How will you make an impact?
In the position of manufacturing engineer your main task is to achieve an efficient production process with the highest possible quality and efficiency for our Desktop Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) within the Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD).
As a Manufacturing Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific you will be part of a passionate and hardworking Operations team in Eindhoven to support our contract manufacturer for DTS. Your challenge is to support the production process of our Desktop SEM business, which delivers compact systems, designed with low-cost solutions that approach the capabilities of high-end systems for a broad range of customers and applications. The impact of your work is visible, and you will actively contribute to the latest breakthroughs in Science!

What will you do?
  • Prepare production processes
  • Create and maintain production work instructions and determine process specifications
  • Setup training, coordinate and train Production Engineers to build and test next generation products.
  • Develop sophisticated troubleshooting, install and repair procedures.
  • Apply trouble shooting and provide technical support to the factory
  • You know all details of functionality of the system. Submit or implement engineering changes to improve the product and process
  • On daily basis you work in close collaboration with Production Engineers, Production Management, R&D and Supplier (Contract Manufacturer)
  • Proven track record to plan and resolve issues that involve gaining collaboration of different functional teams without damaging relationships
  • Acts as an advisor to peers and project resources to meet schedules and resolve technical problems
  • Get results, even under difficult situation and is creative to find alternative ways when needed
  • Lead technical conflicts and/or issues and adequately drive to a solution

How will you get here?
  • At minimum: Bachelor’s degree in (Mechatronics) Engineering or Physics is required
  • At least 5 years of experience in high tech industry and working in cleanroom environment
  • Experience in high-tech industry manufacturing environment with knowledge in technical field
  • Knowledge and/or experience with electron microscopy is a huge plus
  • Broad affinity and working experience with physics, mechanics, electronics and software
  • Process oriented and focused on continuous improvements
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, both internally and with suppliers
  • Excellent English language skills (verbal and in writing)
Dutch verbal skills needs to be on a level of good understanding
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, Statistical Engineering experience would be highly beneficial
  • Be a collaborative team-player with hands-on and can-do mentality
Living near Eindhoven is a requirement.
