Wesbury is seeking a skilled self-starter to join the construction team who is responsible for everything from full house renovations to new construction projects in a variety of settings including private homes, apartments and care facilities. The carpenter is a full time employee of Wesbury where all tools, equipment and liability insurance are provided by Wesbury.
Hourly starting pay $18/hour, higher wage based on experience
Job summary:
The carpenter must be capable of repair, renovation, general maintenance and or new construction of houses and buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items and appropriate hand and power tools. The carpenter must be skilled in carpentry, plumbing and electrical work. Project examples include but are not limited to the full renovations of houses and buildings such as repair, replacement, addition or complete renovation of doors, windows, roof, siding, bathroom, and kitchen. New Construction projects may include the addition of a deck, garage or sunroom.
Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints, sketches and/or building plans to prepare project layout, determine dimensions and materials required and build.
- Build new construction, renovate and or repair using carpentry, electrical and plumbing skills as assigned.
- Prepare job sites by moving material to and from job sites and erecting scaffolding and ladders.
- Inspect structures for renovation and repair needs including but not limited to floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, and woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
- Demolish or remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace.
Qualifications:
- 15 years or equivalent job experience preferred.
- Must be able to work without supervision.
- Must be skilled in carpentry, plumbing and electrical.
