Passport Clerk PT [United States]


 Introduction
Performs intermediate work conducting accurate and efficient data entry while processing a wide variety of duties including U.S. Passports, State licensing and registration transactions for customers and the City vehicle fleet, accounting for all inventories necessary to transact business and balancing daily reports and deposits, ensuring that all transactions are compliant with applicable Federal, State and City policies and procedures. Assists the public with passport applications, photo's and questions while following federal guidelines for a successful submission.

Calls future appointments for confirmation and clarification of paperwork necessary for completion.

Paperwork consists of nightly balancing, passport transmittals and postage.

Provides support services to the License Bureau function by performing a variety of State licensing and registration transactions as allowed by the Department of State.

May provide administrative support services such as answering incoming phone calls, processing utility payments, distributing incoming mail, processing outgoing mail, processing accounts payable checks, filing of various documents and assisting with the department's major projects.

Comprehends and stays current on all Federal and State policies, procedures and guidelines covering the types of passport and registration transactions performed by the City's Passports function.

Consults with the License Bureau Supervisor and/or License Bureau Lead on important or difficult matters as appropriate to be resolved with minimum disruption or delay of services to the customer.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with moderate work-related experience.

Ability to provide evidence of US Citizenship as required by the U.S. Department of State
