Job Description

We are searching for an intelligent, friendly person with exceptional interpersonal skills and high-level attention to detail.

The position is a permanent full-time hybrid role. The position is available immediately and will be based at our Deer Park head office. Some flexibility of start/finish times is available with attendance at the office required 2 days a week.

Our team are all listed under the Health Professionals and Support Services award – the payroll team lead role is a support services level 9 position with an above award rate between $40-45 per hour considered pending experience. A companywide profit-sharing opportunity has also recently been launched adding to the package.

Desired Skills and Experience

Duties & Responsibilities

Working together with our Bookkeeper and Accounts Team, tasks will include:

  • End to end fortnightly payroll including setting up new starters and terminations
  • Preparation of payroll reports, payroll tax and PAYG / STP lodgement (Currently we have staff working mostly in Vic and some in NSW, Tas and Qld)
  • Superannuation payment / compliance for all staff
  • Co-ordinating / managing a payroll officer and working collaboratively with the bookkeeper to ensure our financial processes and accounts are maintained
  • Auditing team performance
  • Salary Sacrificing
  • Monitor and report on employee entitlements and leave liabilities
  • Casual conversion and annualised salary arrangement reporting
  • Liaising with team members about timesheets and payroll enquiries
  • Award interpretation and ensuring updates are flagged to executive and implemented accordingly
  • Updating payroll related policy and procedures as required

Requirements

  • Relevant payroll and industry training, knowledge and experience
  • Working knowledge of accounting processes, relevant legislation, statutory and ATO requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise tasks, work effectively under pressure, problem-solve and meet deadlines
  • Highly developed computer skills including Microsoft Office Excel, and MYOB
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
