About the mahi

Te Ara Tahi is a shared journey of transformation across Te Rua Mahara o te Kāwanatanga Archives New Zealand, Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa National Library of New Zealand and Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision. It’s about the institutions working more closely together, sharing expertise and resources to better meet the changing needs and expectations of New Zealanders. Te Ara Tahi has four teams, all of which are vital to support the institutions to transform the way they work: Digital, Tāhuhu, Mātauranga Māori and People/Partnerships.

We are looking for an administrator in our Programme Office which provides support to all work streams across the programme. This role, starting immediately, will support our Programme Office team and our governance and reporting framework in particular.

You will be experienced in an administrator, coordinator or similar position, adaptable and comfortable working in an changing environment. Every day will be different, and will include a range of tasks including, but not limited to; report collation, organising workshops and meetings, preparing/collating papers for governance groups, minute taking, proactive support to management and team colleagues, and any other administrative support as required.

Our programme actively embraces working in Tikanga / Te Ao Māori context, it is important for you demonstrate a high level of willingness to work in this context. We are looking for a team player, someone who will lend their hand to whatever needs to be done. You will be a self-starter with initiative, highly organised, have superb attention to detail, excellent written communication skills, and be a real team player. Experience in the archives/library sector or change projects is desirable.

Te Haumi – Enterprise Partnerships Branch covers a range of entities, functions or institutions. Today these currently include the National Library, Archives New Zealand, Ministerial Services, Local Government Commission and the Gambling Commission. Each ‘enterprise’ has its own unique kaupapa, and through its ‘partnership’ with Te Tari Taiwhenua, will be supported to achieve their goals. The nature of each partnership will depend on the goals and needs of the entity.
