The Opportunity

The Abbott portfolio of structural heart solutions has expanded significantly in recent years. We feature products to treat the broad spectrum of structural heart disease (SHD)—encompassing both congenital heart defects and acquired conditions, such as valvular heart disease. The portfolio includes transcatheter mitral valve repair devices, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, mechanical and tissue valves and structural heart occluders.


The team is looking for a TMTI Therapy Specialist to be based in Jeddah or Riyadh reporting to the Regional Therapy Development Manager.


The TS will be responsible for promoting and providing sales and clinical support for TMTI cases at existing and new hospitals within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and within the MEA region as needed, and create a referral patient flow to the existing TMTI accounts. The TS will profile and target existing TMTI hospital accounts and develop where possible, and with alignment with SH Training department new to TMTI accounts. The TS analyzes the cardiology team in these target accounts, identify the decision maker(s) and approach them to develop an interest in the therapy. The TS should set-up patient referral and screening activities at the referral account.


The TS creates an ongoing and sustainable relationship between the SH team at the hospital and the referral account and with the different stakeholders.


The TS coordinates TMTI promotion in Saudi Arabia with the distributor to ensure adequate stock and align on market activities. The TS is responsible for initiating new accounts and expand utilization in existing ones through a referral’s awareness program. The TS is responsible to achieve the therapies financial objectives.

What You'll Do

New Account Management:

Map the market and define new target account(s) for TMTI. Map the market and profile target accounts for market expansion for TMTI through active referral programs. Map the cardiology team and identify the decision maker(s) on therapeutic options for those patients who need TMTI. Use 3Mensio to assess patients and provide clinical advice to treating physician. Map the patient flow or pathway within the account. Create therapy awareness and interest with the decision maker(s) by explaining the TMTI and TMTI technologies, the patient target group, the latest clinical data and the therapy benefits to the patient. Utilize all marketing and clinical material and data to reach out to the maximum audience for referral and to win market share for TMTI . Achieve top line financial objectives in the region. Build relationship with all key opinion leaders. Ensure compliance in all activities and take responsibility for accurate and timely submission of all documents.

Communication with SH Therapies team:

Communicate and share info on regular bases with the SH management team responsible for the region. Report on regular basis to Therapy Development Manager the outcomes on the activities at the referral and new accounts. Develop database of contacts and activities at the referral accounts. Work closely with marketing team to develop educational programs. Work with training department to secure proctors.

Set-up and support referral activities at the accounts:

Convince the decision maker to organize referral activities related to the TMTI (presentation for cardiology team, screening training with echo team, visit to a TMTI account to attend a case). Involve the TS at these meetings to create an ongoing relationship between the referral account and SH team.

Knowledge and skills:

Strong selling skills. Strong relationship & network builder within a multi-specialty cardiology team at the hospital. Knowledge of various cardiology treatments to understand patient flow within the hospital Versatile: able to influence and convince a variety of clinicians’ personality types. Strong analytical skills: able to identify and understand a cardiology hospital environment. Unsurpassed communication and interpersonal skills: to build relationships with customers and colleagues. Knowledge of the cardiology medical device environment and market access issues Understanding of the organizational processes, procedures and compliance within a corporate environment Insight into various Healthcare systems in the region. Ability to work with distributors and achieve alignment on common goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Saudi National.
  • University Degree in Biomedical Engineer, Life Sciences or related medical field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in sales or clinical positions in cardiology hospital environment in Saudi.
  • Hospital Account management.
  • Functioning in Corporate environment
  • Clinical background.

Preferred Qualifications

  • TMTIexperience preferred.
