The Role - Te Tūranga

This is a result of the new Conduct of Financial Institutions regime (CoFI) which introduces a new regulatory regime to ensure registered banks, licensed insurers and licensed non-bank deposit takers (NBDT) comply with the fair conduct principle when providing relevant services to consumers.
This is a unique opportunity to play a leadership role in ensuring our market engagement, guidance and approach delivers regulatory outcomes that make the intended difference. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing the workflow of the Banking & Non-Banking Conduct team, supporting the FMA's approach to conduct regulation for the Banking & NBDT sectors.
You will support delivery of the FMA's active supervision conduct within the Banking & NBDT sector sector & manage the team to be respected as the FMA's banking/NBDT sector subject-matter experts.
About you - Ō pūkenga
For this opportunity, you'll need to bring credibility in the Banking & NBDT sector, a market engagement perspective and a working knowledge of CoFI/regulation and effective governance.
Your pragmatic business lens, ability to engage, knowledge of the conduct risks, issues and opportunities facing the sector and consumers will be well utilised when it comes to leading the delivery of regulatory outcomes. Experience as a people leader is preferred.
