Customer Service / Driver – Mico Manukau

Our Mico Manukau store is a small but busy branch providing trade solutions to a loyal trade customer base, including home builders and the local business sector.
Mico New Zealand is a top supplier of plumbing and bathroom products in the industry to the trade, retail and commercial sectors, with 69 branches and around 550 employees throughout New Zealand.

The role

We have an exciting role, where you’ll join a stable branch and enjoy the variety and opportunities of working with a close-knit, experienced team within a large organisation.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you'll be joining the team as a Customer Service all-rounder. The variety of this role is exciting as it will be mostly delivery driving to our customers and making sure that their products arrive on time, with some Inwards Goods, packing the delivery van or devanning deliveries from suppliers, and on occasion assisting at the Trade Counter. If you're successful, we would provide additional training including getting you your forklift licence (if you don’t already have one). You’d get product and systems training right from the start, and support from the experienced team around you.

You’ll have the chance to learn our products, and this will give you the opportunity to progress in the branch, the business, and the organisation. Product or industry knowledge would be a real bonus, but we have heaps of great training materials, if you’re a willing learner!

This is a permanent, full time role, working Mondays to Fridays (7am or 7.30am start) and rostered Saturday mornings from 8am until 12pm (1 in 4).

About you

To shine in this role, you’ll bring a customer-focused attitude and strong work ethic to the business and be prepared to work closely and flexibly with the rest of our team. Our Manukau team work collaboratively and so your strong teamwork skills are essential to this role. The ability to build rapport and relationships should be your strength and you’ll be IT savvy too.

There will be manual handling required and so you’ll need to be physically fit. A current Class 1 drivers’ licence is required (full or restricted, as long as you’re a confident driver) and if you do have forklift experience then that would be a real bonus (but training will be provided)!

What we can offer you

In return, we’ll offer you a great competitive package, excellent opportunities for training and development, and a strong and support team environment. As Mico New Zealand is also part of Fletcher Building, there are great opportunities for career training and development, plus big-company benefits, such as an Employee Education Fund and an exciting and forward-thinking new Parental Leave Policy.

The career opportunities are exciting! Mico has a culture of career paths and development and career progression, with people in our business staying for up to 40 years and enjoying a varied career. For those coming into the business at an entry-level, we’re able to offer opportunities to start a career in Retail Sales, Warehousing & Distribution and Driving.

Please note, a full pre-employment medical, including a drug test, will be required and you must currently be legally entitled to live and work permanently in New Zealand.

Applications close on: Sunday, 13th August 2023 (unless the role is filled sooner).

We are proud of the incredible diversity of people who make up our business! As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we strive to create an inclusive environment for all our employees across our national network of branches throughout New Zealand.
